Just as the two other companies, the WESTKOMPANIE was also established in 1907, the year of foundation of the Bürgerschützenverein Bad Lippspringe e.V. (Citizens' Rifle Club).

Two of the citizens who attended the foundation meeting on 2nd February 1907 and who had agreed by their signature to become a member of the Citizen's Rifle Club Lippspringe were hotel-keeper Heinrich Peters and master baker Lorenz Wille. Heinrich Peters was appointed the first Captain of the Westkompanie and held this rank for 13 years until 1920. Then he was succeeded by his deputy, Lieutenant Lorenz Wille at that time, who then remained Captain of the Westkompanie for 25 years.

In 1955 the Westkompanie obtained its own flag, which was sponsored by queen Hilde Hölscher at that time (with champion shot Leo Benteler).
